| Hmm... What pictures to post today?
Well, for starters, those MOUNTAIN HIKING pictures that I never did include in my last mass email. By the way, STEFANIE DANG did not go because well, she's still working on getting herself up that Peak without making Jeremy stop halfway. haha. Don't worry Stef, you've got until June to run up the Peak.
You see that tall mountain in the back? Yup, all the way to the freaking top.
I guess the view was worth it...
 Andreas took this picture.
The Beach at the bottom of the mountain.

Send us to Korea! OH and I know what you've all been waiting for. Yes sireeee, pictures from our little trip to Korea.. I mean ALL YOU CAN EAT KOREAN BBQ. Yes folks, everyone's dream can be materialized in Hong Kong for the low low price of about $12 US. Step right up, the next plane to Hong Kong leaves in 3 minutes.
Like a small child eager for recess, Stef waits patiently to get her BBQ on.
The food never ends at a buffet!
Red meat has this soothing affect on me
 Three happy customers

High Table, Yet Again Oh and pictures from High Table dinner #3. I think the only reason why I put these high table dinner pictures up is because Stef and I actually showered and made an attempt to look nice at these events. Hence, we're trying to convince you all that we haven't been completely assimilated into the FOBBINESS that is Hong Kong. And that we have friends to take pictures with, but you probably already knew that we paid them to take these pictures with us.
Our California friends. Bubble? What bubble?
More California people and Andrea the Canadian
Our friend, Mr. Lobster. My, how we love him the best.

That's right folks, Ms. Lo has in hand a cup of....drumroll please....Alkyhall! We have discoverd a new breed of Stacey, we shall call her Fun Stacey. Fun Stacey even dances!! whoa...sorry, just got distracted by a flying pig. haha! =) Keep the Heini's Away! | | |
| Shame shame. I know, I haven't updated in DECADES. Tons of stuff has happened since the last entry. WE WENT TO BEIJING! haha.
First of all, high table dinner #2 pictures:

BEIJING SYNOPSIS So what went on in Beijing? We had a lot of fun and even got to go to see a gazillion historic sites... many of which started to look the same. Blame it on the noncreative Chinese architecture.
Saturday I don't know how, but we all got up at the buttcrack of dawn to make it to the airport by 7. Even Anna was on time! haha. We took a 3 hour flight to Beijing on Dragon Air, which we all HIGHLY recommend because it's not ghetto. The only thing is that someone kept laying these thousand year old egg farts to the point where all of us sleeping would intermittently wake up to the intoxiating smell of death creeping into our nostrils. Who farted? We'll never know. But who needs an alarm clock when you can get some old chinese lady to fart you out of a deep slumber. The only drama rama that occured was that I (Stacey) stupidly dropped my passport in the five foot walk from the luggage carousel to customs. Luckily someone had picked it up and turned it into our airline so after half an hour of frantic gestures and broken mandarin, my precious precious passport was returned to me. Had I not gotten it back, I would have had to stay in Beijing for a minimum of 15 days. Phew! That would have sucked (for lawrence mostly). Too bad the rest of our Hong Kong tour group didn't share in my enthusiasm. In our walk of shame to the back of the bus we had to dodge rude comments and mutterings in cantonese. One guy even kindly shared his opinion in foblish, "We all waiting for you". I think there was a little bit of murder in his eyes. Oh, I also dropped my credit card that same day in the street, but we won't get into that.
Sunday While the 5 star hotel/resort we stayed in was incredibly nice, we didn't get to spend enough time taking advantage of all of their facilities. They even had a living room and 2 flat screen TVs for each room! It obviously doesn't take much to make me happy. Breakfast, however sucked. Our first stop for the day was the Forbidden City which is estimated to have over 1,000 rooms. We also went to Tiannamen Square that day, but we had the most fun at the Summer Palace because we took a million pictures posing as the locals would - a different Victory/peace sign pose in each snapshot. That night we ditched our tour group after dinner and headed over to Wan Fu Xing street where there were stalls and stalls of food vendors as far as the eye could see. Street Meat, Fried Ice cream, Scorpions, oh my! You could get almost every conceivable type of meat on a stick - Even BUGS! none of us were brave enough to try them, but we did take a million pictures like any good asian tourist.
Monday Monday was filled with infomercials and a little bit of sight seeing. Apparently the reason why our trips are so cheap is because these tourist traps - Jade Factories, Herbal centers, Tea sampling, etc - pay our travel agencies to bring us walking dollars to these live infomercials. They usually try and get you to buy their products, but we usually spent that time writing post cards and giggling at the sad fact that some kid out there has to say "My dad convinces tourists to buy herbal patches that don't really work for a living". Sorry if your dad does. The highlight of our Monday was meeting up with the other exchange students at the "Den" bar. It was nice seeing them again, even though it had only been two days since we left Hong Kong. BUT - even better was seeing Lawrence and Elaine! And kudos to elaine and her mad hookups at all the local clubs and bars.
Tuesday We ditched the tour group in search for the real reason why we came to Beijing - Shopping! At the "Silk Road Market" we found fake stuff galore, we stayed there till it closed. We also found a DVD shop that had a Blockbuster amount of fake DVDs and even Sex and the City (all seven seasons) for $200RMB, which is like $25 US. Amazing. Too bad some of the CD's skip. Oh well, what can you ask for when you pay so little? We even found Oceans 12 which isn't even in theatres yet! I don't know if anyone's tried to see if it works yet. We had the best dinner that night with Elaine and Lawrence. It was like a 10 course meal with Peking Duck and the best part? We fed all seven of us for under $20 US!
Wednesday We had a pretty crappy breakfast at the hotel and headed off to more shopping. We found a building that had floors and floors of cheap clothing... Lisa scored big time at that place. I have no idea how she fit all her new clothes and shoes in her luggage. After that we met back up with our tour group and headed off to the airport back to Hong Kong.
